Default power locks malfunction

i recently bought a 2000 nissan sentra gxe and the power locks are malfunctioning. they lock fine, but they will randomly come unlock whether i'm driving down the road or have the car turned completely off. it's even starting to attempt to unlock the doors quicker as i am frequently hearing a "clicking" noise coming from under the dash.

any help would be appreciated, or even a way to turn off the power locks would be fine. i'm happy with manual locking, just not auto unlocking

it could still have the smart entry control unit. with power door locks they usually came with remotes. it could be the smart entry control unit if equipt. i have also seen the door lock/unlock switch on the drivers door cause this problem.

I have seen corrosion in the door lock switch cause this problem, also sticking buttons on remotes. If your car does not have keyless it is probably the switch.

If its the key cylinder switch, I would blow out the harness plug and put some insulating grease in the connector and right into the switch end. Alot of times its the water in the connector that causes this. Dave
