Default 2003 GXE problem with thermostat?

I have a 03 sentra gxe, and when I am at low rpms (idle), my a/c feels hot and my temp gauge pegs out. I refilled the radiator and reservoir, but it is still doing it. If it's the thermostat, I would love to replace it, but I do not know what it looks like or where it is located. I haven't worked on a car in 15 years, so I am a little out of practice, but I know people that would help me replace it.
Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forums!!

- First check for any visual leak on the colling system and possible a pressure check.

- Perform a cooling flush, but you already did that.

- Next check if the radiator fan are coming on when the engine temperature gets to high or the A/C is tun ON.

- Replaced the thermostat. You can find more information in the PDF file located in the following address: http://x.nissanhelp.com/CO.pdf

Please let us know your findings and if the PDF file help you resolve your problem.
