Default Oil dip stick

The handle part of the oil dip stick came apart from the dip stick itself and is now stuck and blocking where I can put a new dip stick in. How do I fix this and is there a recall?

This can be removed with a shop vac or by using superglue on the end of a pencil. Also it can be blown out with a compressor on the oil fill hole. This can be spectacular and make it fly about 10 feet so make sure everyone is out of the way. If the top of the tube is deformed and you cannot get it out it may have to be pushed down and removed after taking off the oil pan.

My sister 2001 1.8 Sentra's oil dipstick broke as well. We removed the dipstick with a magnet. (Pencil-magnet)

Used a regular home vacuum cleaner hose attachment and it sucked right out.

I used my shopvac to get the dipstick out, but don't see the o-ring. Should I go get another oil change in case it fell in?

This happened to me. The yellow was broke off flush to the diptube.

I drilled a small hole into the plastic, then turned a screw into it, effectively creating a new "handle".

Thanks to the Jiffy Lube dudes for busting it off.

any idea on how to do this? My dipstick has fallen on down into the tube out of reach, and I realy don't want to go to the trouble of removing the oil pan if i don't have to.
Thanks

If you have access to an air compressor you can pinch off the hose to air duct from the valve cover and then remove the oil cap. Put compressed air into the oil fill opening and the dipstick will shoot out.
