2009 Sentra - CVT won't "upshift"
Here's the situation.
2009 Nissan Sentra, 2.0 L, CVT After driving about 40 miles, my Sentra won't "upshift" at 55+ mph. So, if I touch (and I mean touch) the throttle at 55 mph, it revs very quickly up to about 3000 rpm. If I take my foot off the gas, it will go down to about 1500 rpm. But as soon as I touch the gas, it revs back up. Acting like it's not in the highest gear or that the torque converter isn't locking. At one point when the transmission was doing this, the speedometer quit working. I drove the car home (another 2 miles) at about 20 mph and about 4000 rpm. The speedometer was not getting a signal from the computer (hooked up my OBDII reader). The car only seems to do this after driving about 40 miles. No issues before then. Before this issue, I replaced the heater blower motor and resistor through the method shown on this site. Only thing that may have been adjusted differently was the brake pedal. I also replaced the intake elbow. I was having surging issues and found that the intake elbow was cracked. There are no codes per my OBDII reader. Any ideas? The car has 155K on it and has been pretty good to me. Never thrown a check engine light and has only needed struts, brakes, plugs and filters. Thanks! |
