Default Please help with confused, handicapped 2001 Sentra owner

I have been battling misfires that make my 2001 Sentra 1.8 not drivable.
The warning light is on. My ODB2 reader gave me a PP0301 Cylinder 1 misfire, and a P1320.
I had the plugs replaced a few months ago. I changed out a ignition coil, the 1st one. Unfortunately, no difference.
I am out of ideas, so I towed the car into a auto mechanic.
They think it is the computer and they are trying to find one for it.
They said it was the PCM.... IS A PCM the same as a ECU ?
I am a disabled senior, so I don't have much money.
Could anyone help me with this?
Are there rebuilt or third party PCM (or is it ECU).

Thanks in advance!!

Jon,

Yes, most american vehicles use the term Powertrain Control Module (PCM), but Nissan use Engine Control Module (ECM) or Engine Control Unit (ECU).

Did you use factory ignition coil? some aftermarket coil have different resistance and could trigger the P1320 code.

Also, if possible perform a compression test to check the head gasket. Head gasket problems are very common on the Sentra.

Thanks for sharing your expertise and time.

* I used a OEM ignition coil to replace the old one.
The P1320 code is a reason why I changed the coil. It was there before.
There was no change in the condition of the car before and after. Besides,
I have the old coil.
* I DID NOT check the compression. I don't have the tool to check the compression, but that would've been my next step.
Instead of buying a kit to do the compression check, I felt that it was time
to have a real mechanic check the car out. I did not ask the auto shop if they checked the compression. I am assuming that they did that before coming up
with telling me that it was the "PCM".
* I am still waiting for the shop to call me to give me an estimate on the PCM/ECU/ECM. No call yet.

* I saw a site on the Web that sells fixed and reprogrammed ECUs. For $100, they send you one and you have to send them back your old one or it will cost you a $100 deposit. Any thoughts about this?

Thanks Jon.
