When you swapped coils 2/4 with 1/3 did the misfire follow. Also pull the sparkplugs and check condition.

yes coil pack, sparkplug and compression are fine, no spark,no electrical impulse to connector for coil packs, both leads, well all four leads light test probe with just key on. #s 1 & 3 light up when cranked on third position of the coil pack connector. 2&4 don't and therefore,no spark to coil pack. Pulled cam positioner, changed 3-4 months aga even though it turned out to not be the problem. pulled valve cover chain and timing look ok, wiped down anyway,no change.

If you're not getting sparks on those two iginition coils, then the coils may have failed. Since you already have determined there are no sparks, verify further:

1. Engine at idle, disconnect the wiring connector on those coils one at a time. If engine speed (rpm) remains the same, that iginition coil is bad. Do the same test on the other coil. If you get the same results, then replace both ignition coils.

2. After you have disconnected the connector and engine speed drops and engine may even stall, that coil is good. If the test on the other coil is the same, save yourself money on new coils because The no spark is caused by something else.

After you do the test I have outline above and shows the ignition coils are good, then you need to test your power circuit to see if your getting the right voltage. Power is batt. volt. and signal wire (third wire) to ecm I think 5v. Pls. consult your service manual.

I only use multi-meter where I can see numbrs instead of probe lights. When probe lights lit up, does it mean your getting the right voltage or will it lit up with a minimum voltage. I am not sure on that. May be someone can help out.
