Occasional "grabbing" of steering column
Over the past couple days I have noticed at lower speeds there is the occasional pull on the steering column in my 2001 GXE, almost as if someone grabbed it and it trying to pull me some other direction. In addition, there is some vibration but it soon stops.
It is not consistent and happens without any warning. Thoughts? |

Does it always pull in the same direction?

It seems to happen when I turn inwards, but, again, it's not constant. I am going to check the power steering fluid once daylight dawns. I know that hasn't been touched for some time.

Check your brakes (pads and calipers) - could be sticking!!

Yeah, I had thought of that. I did check my axle boots and they are OK. The problem occurs more at low speeds - would a power steering reservoir flush be of any benefit?

Here's a good article that might help. I think you might have some problem in the suspension - best bet is to take it to good mechanic and he should be able to figure it out quickly.
