Default keyless entry acting up?

a few days ago, my keyless entry in my 2008 sentra intermittantly stopped working. I've had it for a month and it was working great, I never drowned it, nor dropped it. I was out and it suddenly just woulnd work. When i got back to my car it worked again, then got home and again would not work. I assumed my battery was dying.

I changed my battery, and again it would only work sometimes. It seemed to alwyas work inside the car, but then when i stood right outside the door it wouldn't. I looked up the code to reprogram it, and i couldnt get the hazzards to flash after the part where it says instert and remove the key from the ignition 6 times in ten seconds, and i removed it fully, but after i tried that if i hit the lock button on my remote it would honk, lock the doors and the hazzards would flash.

What the heck could cause this? do i need a new remote, or could the sensor or the fuse have effected this? is this generally covered under warranty?
