Default New code after HG Replacement

Ok- so I replaced the HG (QG18). Started engine, ran fine for about 10 minutes then SES light came on it was running rough. took it to Autozone. they read 0335 (crank position sensor) and an O2 sensor. So i replaced the CPS, and it still runs rough and has the SES light on. I called the Autozone i the CPS from telling them i want to replace it under warranty. the guy tells me over the phone that it takes a day or so of driving to clear the code and for the computer to allow it to run correctly. I think that is BS. I went to the other Autozone closer to my house and had them read the codes again. same thing, CPS. I am not worried about the O2 sensor. I do want my car to run right. their computer had 3 possible causes of code 0335. 1. bad sensor 2. open wire or bad connection 3. mechanical cause. the guy at the good Autozone thinks it may be the valve timing. It is possible it is off a tooth, or it may have slipped another tooth. Would that much cause it to run poorly and throw the 0335 code?

My plan is to have them give me a new CPS, as I think it is bad. It ran great when i first started it up, if there was a valve timing problem, wouldn't it have shown up on startup?

OK- thanks for all the replies. I have fixed the problem;
my car is good now. THe valve timing was off by 1 freaking tooth. But it runs great now. Thanks for your help. Hopefully, this may help someone else. BTW- the timing is a ***** to set. I have an idea for a tool to hold the camshafts stationary. Will post in a new post when i get some drawings made.

No Problem, Nissan Tech. I have gotten a lot of help from this forum and from the B15 forum, too. Just want to pass it on to others, pay it forward, so to speak.
