Default Eng doesn't rev.

I have an 2003 sentra, it starts fine & you can put it into gear, but if you press on the gas pedal nothing happens. Even in P or N you can't get the engine to rev up. I checked for fault codes & there are none. What should I check or what could be the problem? Thanks

is it a mechanical throttle linkage, or wired? If mechanical, the cable could be broken. If wired, then maybe the piece on or connected to the gas pedal is the culprit.

I'm sorry but I gave you some bad info. The eng does rev in P or N, but not in drive. You can feel the trans go into D & R (engage) but when you press on the gas nothing happens; it just stays at idle.

First thing i would do is check the automatic transmission fluid. It could be low.

The fluid is at the correct level & it isn't burnt. Also I was told that the car could be in a safe mode. I have no clue what that means. Also thanks for helping me out with this problem.
