Code P1148 after changing O2 sensor
Just finished replacing the O2 sensor on my sentra, the code I got before said it needed to be done. Now, I just had a buddy turn off the service engine soon light and we let it run for a minute when the light came back on. P1148 on his computer said DTC see owners manule. Do I have to go on a drive cycle to get it turn off permanately or could there be another issue? I need to get this done ASAP so I can get a smog check and register my vehicle in California.
2004 Nissan Sentra SE-R 2.5, +62,000 Miles. Please help!! :) |

What code did you had before? There is no code that says replaced part on the manual. The P1148 code means that the connection to the front sensor is shorted or open. If you replaced the front O2 sensor, I suggest checking the connection or fuse of the sensor.

Only the dealer can reprogram the ECM with the latest program. Some independent shop have the computer to do it, but the program may not be the latest one.
