I am not quite sure if this would be helpful. I also had starting problem on my 01 sentra 1.8 lit. I spent money on finding the problem, they checked my starter motor, alternator, battery n found nothing. Now what I do is, I put the key in, turn it to ON position, let the lights come on, wait till few of them stop blinking while few others are still on, wait for 5-10 seconds then finally turn the key to START. Its working for me.

If it does not work, then I release my hand brake and then turn to START. hope this helps.

"Hello,

I have a 2000 sentra 1.8 automatic, wouldn't start one morning. Would cracking but no start. Then noticed the fuel pump would not run. With the key in the on position, there is no SES light. I hooked up a code reader and it would not link up. i thought a bad ECM (ECU), bought a used one and but did not work.

There is no power at fuel pump but ground is there , the fuel pump relay does have power, but it is not reaching to fuel pump and no SES light. Checked all fuse and they are working fine.

do you think i need to check the ecm relay first ? but am having trouble finding it or what else should i do. Car Crank but no start no fuel pump sound and no SES light.

Please help

Thanks,

Gill"
