Default Code P0507

It's a 04 quest sl with 90K on it. The engine light came on 2 weeks ago with the same code. i had it read and cleared at advance auto as autozone will only read but not clear codes anymore. It stayed off for two weeks before it came on with the same code this afternoon. Strange thing is that the car runs great. No fast ideling that I can audibly hear or no reduction in power.

Has anyone ever encountered this? I don't want to go to the dealer with this as I have read some stories of it costing a pretty penny and the issue is not resolved.

Thanks.

There is a bulletin for that problem: Knowledgebase - 2004 Quest - Nissanhelp.com

You have to reset the idle.

This may actually coinside with the recent zoom treatment at sears. I have to mention though that the light came on in the same spot I was ideling in twice. That location maybe haunted.

I don't have access to a consult II. does that mean I have to go to the dealer?

Thanks.

I had them change the Struts, mounts and shocks and then had them do the Zoom treatment. This treatment gets rid of the carbon buildup in the engine. It works great. My last car, 01 voyager had a lot of carbon buildup. After the treatment the difference in power was incredible. It only cost around $80 or so after taxes and they recommend one done every 15k

Funny thing, I started the car up this morning and the check engine soon light came off. Is this normal or should I worry?

Tks

Does that mean it will come back on? Should I still do the idle reset?

Cool

Got about 300 miles out of it before it came back on again. I haven't read the code yet but I suspect that it is the same one as the van runs great without any problems. I have to do an inspection next month so I guess I will have to get this resolved.

I'll keep you posted.

Got the idle relearned at the dealer this morning. $89.99 + taxes. They said it was 100rpm above normal. They cleared the code and only time will tell.
Thanks for all your help.

I had the dealer relearn the idle as suggested a few weeks ago and after 1000 miles no light so I guess that solved the problem. Many thanks.
