Default frozen doors

I've had the '05 for a little over a month, and I'm finding that the doors (especially the sliders) tend to freeze shut. Anyone have a fix for this? It has only been down to about 20 here and it will get colder, so this problem won't go away. It gets so that the sliders are inoperable and that is not an option with 3 kids. I tried spraying wd40 on the gaskets and that worked for awhile. I'm looking for a long term fix. Let me know if anyone has had anyluck with this, it doesn't seem as bad a problem with my other vehicles. Thanks.

It's possible that the motor is to weak to open the door. Is your quest out of warranty?

Even the non-power doors are frozen shut. It sometimes takes everything I've got to pry them open, so I don't think I can blame the motor. I am concerned that by wrenching on these doors I will damage the handle or even the motor. The doors just seem to freeze together where the gaskets mate. I was thinking about coating them with vaseline to keep them from sticking?

Default More Frozen Doors

We are having the same problem in Chicago. The sliding doors freeze when it is cold. There are numerous other mentions of this on other message boards and no solutions. The Nissan dealer just says, "never heard of it" and offers no solutions except they will look at it for $100 per hour. There is obviously a generalized defect. There must be a solution other than the motor is weak because my doors are manual. Any solutions?

have thi problem mostly with the driver's side sliding door. If you look carefully at the gap between the slliding door and driver's door, it is wider then the other side. Larger by only a bit (1/4" - 1/2") but enough for water to get into the locking mechanism and freeze. We had the dealer adjust our door which made it easier to open and close. We'll see during the next freezing rain or snow.

I think it is in large part since the sliding doors are much larger then the standard minivan (T&C, Odyssey, Sienna, etc). The larger doors put more force on the rails and have more opportunity to become mis-aligned. Just my 2 cents.

Default I had frozen doors

Graphite spray will be the only thing that will stop your doors from freezing. The weather stripping on the doors will freeze when moister attatches to them. The graphite spray will prevent this from happening. You don't have to put it on the intire weather stripping, just make sure you spray atleast half. This should give you enough to open the doors easily. You can get this spray at any auto parts store, or if you don't like walking in those places (ladies) Walmart will also have it. Hope this helps!
