Terrible van. Many problems. I had to sue to get Nissan to repair the van. Terrible van and even worse customer service. Nissan should be ashamed of this product and they should be ashamed of how they treat their customers.

I agree 04 Quest is one of the worst vehicles Nissan has made. There are a ton of tsb's and recalls on this vehicle. I believe Nissan is aware of the poor quality of this vehicle. They have extended the warranty on it and are now offering owners of 04 quest an additional $2000.00 rebate on top of any other rebates and incentives if they buy the 07 Quest.

2004 Quest, worst vehicle I've ever owned. Constant problems with brakes, tires only last 30,000 miles and are special OEM size, no choice but to buy that size!

I hear so many bad reports on the 04 van.I must be the only lucky one .Ive never had a problem with this vehicle. It runs quiet, smooth holds the road very well, and cornering is great. When they called me for the recalls i warned them that the car was running tike a top and that it better be that way when i leave, and it was. With good controll of the right foot i can manage getting 27 to 30 mpg ,hwy depending on wind dir.Thing i deplored at the dealership is when they suggjested i change my cabin filter and if i refused, which i did ,said i could lose my warrenty on the heater motor.Scew them. I drive with my windows open most of the time, and my filter should be faily clean.

Thumbs up My to cents...

I have had my 2007 Quest 3.5 SL for 6 months now, (7,300mi) and have had no major issues with anything...
It is also my first Mini-Van… I had to get it to hall the kid and dogs… (2 big Rotts) Plus plan on having a 2nd kind in about 1 year with my hubby.
I love it…
It rides and handles like a car… Vary close to how my 2000 Maxima rides… (My hubby is now driving the Maxima) The Quest is smooth, powerful, and has a great look… And you get a lot of extras for what you pay for it, unlike other makes of Mini-Vans…

Nissan gives a $2,000 rebate for the new Quests….
I got that as well as a major discount since I work for Firestone Industrial. (I got it for what the dealer pays for it plus the $2,000 rebate off.) So saved a butt load of money. I also got the extended warrantee on it for 7 years or 100,000mi witch ever comes first.

So I give it 4.5 starts out of 5 starts… Just need the noses fixed now… :)

Unfortunately, I went for the styling and the features of this van and it has been an overpampered shopqueen that has not lived up to expectations in terms of reliability. My 2004 Quest was purchased as a replacement for a 1990 Chevy Lumina APV, which at 180k was, while still going strong, an old van. I am happy that I dragged my feet getting rid of it since I have been driving it for yet another week long period while the Quest rests in the shop. The Lumina has not been in the shop for more than brakes and tuneups on occasion in 18 years! The Quest has spent a total of one month in the shop for this or that. Now they tell me that the engine has sludge in it. How? It is rarely operating at capacity? Go Figure. I just paid it off too. Grrrr.

I'm on my 3rd Quest now. My first one was a '94. I sold it with 212,000 miles and it was STILL running strong. I did have to replace most of the major seals to stop oil and transmission fluid leaks. I've also had a 2002 and never had a single problem out of it. I now have an '07 with about 30,000 miles on it. The worst thing that has happened to me was that I had the front brakes re-worked (under warranty) due to a VERY slight shudder. All-in-all, my Quests have been great vehicles!!!

Overall I would have to say that I am satisfied with my 2004 Quest. I traded a 1999 4Runner for it ( which I regret ). Maintaining my Quest has been the most expensive of any vehicle I have owned.

Likes: Handling and overall performance are great. My friends call it the Nascar Mini Van. Love the body style and roomy interior.

Dislikes: I am on my 3rd set of tires already. They seem to last 20-25K. I rotate every oil change and balance every other oil change. The last set I bought was from Tires Plus only had to wait 1 day after ordering. They are Yokohama and I like them better than what the dealer was selling me. I have to have alighnments done more frequently than the book says. About every 9 months. Brakes seem to wear quicker than I am used to. And then there is the problem with the transmission that Nissan wants to ignore.

I can honestly say that I feel the van is reliable and so far has not left me stranded with the exception of I had to replace the battery after 3 years and it requires a deep cycle battery which is a little more expensive.
