Default Heater core replcement 2000 Quest

Hello,
My apologies in advance if this has been covered somewhere already. I have seen a few conflicting bits of info regarding how to replace the heater core. Some say it's under the dash and requires a dash drop to get it out, others say it's accessible from the engine compartment. Anyone know which? I do not own this vehicle so I cannot go take a look-see. I was just asked by a co-worker if I could help her out and replace it. I've done several on other vehicles, just not this one.
The dealer is saying $1200 + for this. I just don't want to bite off more than I'm ready for as she will need a fast turn around. With the holidays around the corner I may not be able to do that.

Thanks in advance
