1995 Pathy factory alarm

does anyone know of a DIY for disconnecting the factory alarm on a 95 w21. everutime we lock the doors the alarm goes off. we want to disconnect. Also is there anything affected by the alarm disconnect that we need to watch out for and take care of??

I can't find any information on the factory alarm for your 1995 pathfinder. Are sure that is a factory alarm?

Check if there is a relay for the alarm in the engine's relay box and remove the relay.

thanks for the reply. I understand that the black box under the passengers side of the drivers seat is the factory alarm. It has a nissan sticker on it by the reset button and the connection cable going into this black alarm box certainly comes out of the factory wiring harness so I beleive it is a factory alarm. I think that if I unplug the connector going into the alarm box the power door locks stop working and I am looking for info that will allow me to disconnect the alarm itself but retain the power to the door locks

If you can't find anything online for your alarm, then your best bet is to check with your local dealer and ask for someone in parts who has been with Nissan for a least 10 years or so. That alarm system on your vehicle is a factory alarm that was usually installed at the dealer. The major problem with this is that almost no information is available outside of the installion man. Maybe someone at your dealer has held on to some of this info, would be willing to make you a copy

should be a switch on the center console

I've had trouble with my alarm (1995 Pathy) for the last few years. The switch on the center console hasn't done much for me. I now have it turned off and that has eliminated the random locking/unlocking (or the alarm going off for no reason) the vehicle used to do while no buttons or anything were being pressed. But now it occasionally will not let me unlock a door (usually front passenger) if I use the key and central locking feature.

I would love to bypass it if there is a good solution out there...

We ended up pulling the complete alarm system out of the truck (harness and all) and now everything wotrks just fine.
