Hi,
Having the same problem, seems to be revolution sensor on back side of transmission closer to engine.

Did you resolve your problem?

You probably need the revolution sensor. You can find more information about the P0720 code here: OBDII Code P0720 2003 NISSAN ALTIMA - Vehicle Speed Sensor | Engine-Codes.com

trans sensors

I replaced both sensors on the rear of the trans. They are not particularly easy to get out, as the screws are in a tight spot (8 mm head if memory serves). This solved the problem.

The culprit was likely the revolution sensor, yet for the labor and not wanting a come-back, I did both and problem solved.

How is your car now? Did the problem come back after replacing the sensors? Is it the twin sensor that mounted in the transmission with the magnetic sensor?

The problems occur only when the weather is really hot, above 100F and more often in long high speed cruise 75 mph. First the cruse control is blinking, and second the gear shift is harsh (rpm increase abruptly from 2-3 rd gear) in hard acceleration.
