Burning Smell While Driving

2005 Altima 2.5s

While driving i sometimes smell something burning, doesn't smell like fuel, more like a burning sheet. It usually goes away and then comes back at random timing. My suspicion was the cabin filter but i have no clue. Any thoughts and what's causing this problem?

No, however the smell is only prevalent when the heater is on.

Heating, or any temp with blower on max? I had an old mazda whose fan motor used to stink of burning insulation on the '4' setting, but was fine on 1,2 and 3.

I know this may sound crazy, but I've heard if the odor resembles cat urine it's probably the recirc/cabin filter needing to be replaced.
