Manual Tranny = burning oil???
I have a 04 which I bought used last year. The previous owner had the engine replaced under warranty at 30000km because of oil consumption. The truck now has 68000km and is about to get another new engine because it is burning oil (a quart for every 1000km). It has always been babied and all maintenance has been performed at dealerships.
Two people have told me that manual Pathfinders start burning oil sooner or later (a mechanic, who said that the 3.5 couldn't braking under engine compression, and a salesman who didn't want to have anything to do with it when I was thinking of trading it because it was a manual). Any thoughts or past experience? |

i dont think it has to do with it being a manual i got the same engine in my max and the 3.5 are notorious for the burning of oil. i think it has to do something wwith the oil rings. u are not the only one
