Default 2001 No Heat

My 2001 Pathfinder has the digital auto AC and heater. I used the manual setting to try and get some heat, but is seems to only blow heat when the car is actually moving. Is this normal? I have never had another car that does this.
It does me no good to start my car before leaving, witch it do for about 15 to 20 min, because it does not blow any heat, not even enough to defrost the window.
Is there something wrong with the heater? The fan seems to work fine; I can adjust the flow fine.
At first I thought it just took a long time to warm up but while stopped at a stop sign it went from blowing hot air too cold air until I started moving again.
Help, it is too cold to not have heat.

Question Same here

I have that issue with my 2006 Pathy. If I use my auto starter it'll run for 15 minutes before shutting off. When I get to the truck the air blowing is cold, but if I rev the engine or simply start to drive, viola, heat. Why... ???
