Default Changing spark plugs on a 2001 Pathfinder

I was told that the plenum has to come off to access the spark plugs is this correct? The dealership said it will take 3 hrs and cost $290. Am I getting taken?

Thanks

Go to a different shop... I changed 2001 Pathfinder plugs myself without major disassembly. Took approximately an hour with minimal skin/blood loss.

It took me at least three hours, but I didn't have to take the plenum off. You do need to unhook wire brackets, the air inlet and throttle body, etc.
