I have seen many cars with P1145 code. Most of the times the problem is the sensor it self, and replacing the sensor takes care of the problem. Sometimes we get cars that some other dealers have replaced the wrong sensor. They replaced the right bank instead of the left. Make sure the left bank (with wires black/white, orange and black) was replaced. Also if the oil is dirty, the sensor can not read the camshaft gear properly. Sending the wrong signal to the ECM (Engine Control Module).

Default 2001 PATHFINDER -CODE P1145

Thanks for your suggestions TECH. My oil is clean and in addition my mechanic removed all possible sensors, cleaned them and then replaced them. He cleared the code and it stayed off for some time. He drove the vehicle around and the light didn't come back on. He allowed the vehicle to sit for a while and restarted it and poof..... the light back on. I don't know what else to do.

Two sensors are interchangeable. P1140 is Passenger side. P1145 is driver side.

If you are still getting the code after replacing the sensor you may have a bad intake timing control solenoid. First thing you will want to check is if the oil is full. Low oil level will cause this code. Next you will want to monitor the sensor and solenoid with a scan tool. Monitor both bank 1 and 2 at the same time. When you step on the gas the angle readings should change about the same.

I was throwing both codes, P1145 and P1140. I replaced both sensors on a Saturday and the SES went off by itself on Tuesday. I found complete instructions here:
