Default Intermittent miss 2001 Pathfinder

I have a 2001 Pathfinder 4x4 with 250,000 miles on it. It's my every day driver and runs and functions well. About two months ago it started a very slight stumble during idle. Not enough to stall and barely noticeable to anyone else but me. It doesn't throw a code. To my knowledge it doesn't occur when driving, only when stopped with the car in gear and the brake applied. It can also go several days without occurring. It's not getting worse.

I have cleaned the throttle body and the mass air flow sensor. I have inspected all the vacuum hoses and they appear ok.

What should I do next?

TIA

Common causes for misfires on VQ35DE engines include work or incorrect type spark plugs (stick with the correct NGK plugs), a faulty ignition coil or a failed spark plug tube seal allowing oil into the spark plug well, causing the spark to short rather than fire the plug. Occasionally, I've run into a bad ignition coil harness connector, but it's not as common. A fuel injector can fail and cause a misfire, too, but these aren't too common, either, on VQ engines.

If the spark plug or ignition coil pack was at fault, would I not get a trouble code?

Many times, "yes," but, not always. A cam position sensor can also do this, as well.

Does the fact that the stumble stops completely (in other words the idle is smooth) if I shift into neutral while stopped make any difference?
