Default ABS Module Questions....

Ok, so I have just obtained 2005 Pathfinder. Told it needs a new ABS Module. First is it true that I can not buy a used module from parts vehicle and mount on mine, as once it's programed to a vehicle it's that vehicle's ABS? 2. Is it true that if you unplug the main cord plug or pull fuses for ABS, the vehicle will operate as normal braking as a car without ABS? LAST reply answer on another forum, mechanic said who knows...give it a try and let us know the outcome. Thanks in advance from a knowledgeable me Hani that works on these regularly.

You can install a used abs module. It Will not require any programming. Install it, bleed the air out of the lines and it should work fine. Disconnecting the abs module or removing fuses will also cause the speedometer to stop working.
