Default Firing order...

Hello,
Got a check engine light right after my knee replacement surgery was done. Been ignoring it, but I did check the code. It says that cylinder 3 and 5 are misfiring. I searched here in the forum, but was unable to find info on the firing order. Can anyone help, please. Thanks!

1 & 3 are next to each other. IDK how many miles but check spark plugs first.

hi Guys,
Thanks for the info on the firing order. As to the mileage, I have 91,000 on the odometer. I was going to check the plugs and wires, because after that I wouldn't really know what to do next. If the weather permits, i will take a look at it this weekend.

It doesn't have spark plug wires; it has individual coil packs. Spark plugs are due at 105,000 miles and I would highly suggest you stick with the OEM NGK plugs. Instructions say to remove the upper intake plenum, as it sits above the #1 and #3 coil packs. They can be replaced without removing the intake, but it takes patience and a good assortment of tools to sneak them in and out.

In addition to checking the spark plugs, do a spark test on 1 & 3 ignition coils. Also check for damaged coil harness. To do a spark test, remove the coil and insert a working plug and start engine. If coil is good, you should see steady spark. If NG, its intermittent or No spark at all, replace. Repeat on # 3. You can also buy a Spark Tester which is inexpensive. The first time I did the spark test I simply used a $2. plug calibrated to the proper gap. And I used my jumper cable for ground. Simply clamp the head of the plug on one end and clamp anywhere on engine bay like metal bracket with other end. Happy troubleshooting.

Hello,
Finally got a chance to look at the engine this past weekend. Fortunately, it was nothing major. I found a couple of bad plugs which were replaced. Hopefully, no more check engine lights for a while.

Great! thanks for the update. It's not urgent but I suggest when you have the time to replace the remaining spark plugs. Also if you plan to keep your Patty for a little longer is to replace the Air/Fuel sensor at 100k miles for optimum performance.
