Default Air noise near brake pedal ?

Yesterday turned on my vehicle (nissan pathfinder 2001) an heard an air noise near the foot pedals, as i started using the brake I noticed that the noise dissapears when I press the brake pedal ? Can anyone tell me if this is normal or could I really have a serious problem with my brakes ?

Thanks

Paul

You could have a brake booster diaphragm starting to fail. As it gets worse, your brake pedal "feel" will get hard. Might be worth checking the booster check valve to make sure it's working properly to be on the safe side.

Thanks you were right the brake booster was starting to fail. Had it removed and took it to a shop and was rebuilt new. Cost total was aprox. $ 150.00 dlls.
