So super grumpy.

The IPDM went out again last night leaving me stranded. Tried swapping the relay - nothing. Had a ziplock of all the old relays I took out of the relay that I replaced in 09 - nothing.

Looks like I am going to have to pay the $400 at the dealer today because I can't be without a car for the weekend and a couple days after waiting for delivery of a $300 internet unit.

I have heard reference to some people saying that when the IPDM does truly go out, the relay swap doesn't help....

did you check prices at Trophy Nissan like I mentioned?
they are far less than $300.00
sometimes local dealers are willing to match internet prices

Trophy Nissan's Online Portal (My Nissan Parts Store Online Nissan Parts and Nissan Accessories) wanted $328.15 for the newest IPDM (Nissan part #284B6ZE03C.) 2day shipping was $68.63, eating up all the savings since I can get it for $402 at my local Nissan.

They were very nice, but not worth it in my situation.

:/

Assuming you don't have access to a CONSULT II or later scan tool that allows you to control the fuel pump relay in work support, the next way would be to go through the diagnostic steps listed in the factory service manual. The fuel pump circuit section is on page EC-671 of the 2004 Quest FSM, in the Engine Control chapter. It will give circuit description, wiring diagrams and testing procedures. You can download the EC chapter in our knowledge base-service manuals section:
