Default clicking noise between first and second gear

My 05 Pathfinder makes a clicking noise between first and second gear. Only does if after the vehicle has been parked and cut off, and only at the first shift betweeen gears. After that , no more clicking until vehicle has been shut down.

My 2005 Pathfinder has the exact same issue - its more like a "clang" than a click coming from the rear and happens only the first time when I accelerate after the engine has started.

What your hearing is the anti-lock brake system performance check. Read your manual about it and you willf find that it is normal. Nothing to worry about. :D

Default Makes sense

jb_adams,
What you have mentioned makes a lot of sense. I will ask the service advisor to confirm that the noise I am hearing is indeed from the ABS.
Thanks for your reply.

There was a recent thread about that somewhere. It might have been on another forum, I can't remember. The newer models have this feature now. It's on all Frontiers, Xterras, and Pathfinders. It might even be on the cars too. I was told that the loud clicking sound is mentioned in the owners manual. Some dealers don't even know about it yet because it's so new.
