Default Bosch Platinum Plus Spark Plugs Caused Multiple Cylinder Misfire?

I set the timing and replaced the plugs with Bosch Platinum Plus on my 99 Pathfinder in attempt to get it to pass the smog test.

Right away, I started getting the P0300 Multiple Cylinder Misfire error code. A mechanic friend of mine said he has seen this with the Bosch plugs, and recommended I put the old NGK plugs back in before trouble shooting further.

Sure enough, the error code doesn't come back with the NGKs.

I took the Bosch plugs back to Autozone, and the manager said he had heard the same thing, so he replaced them with NGKs.

Has anyone heard of this before, or have any idea why the Bosch plugs cause misfires in Pathfinders?
