Replacement of transmission turbine speed sensor
All:
This is for a 2001 pathfinder with 160k on it. The transmission turbine speed sensor has started to leak through the wiring, down the harness, and then drips out below the front of the passenger seat. The repair, suposedly is easy EXCEPT that you must drop the transmission to pull out the sensor and put in a new one. SO..................as an out of the box question, has anyone tried to strategically cut a hole in the floor, replace the sensor, and then repair the floor. From my perspective, I would much rather do this than drop the transmission. Thanks in advance for your input. |

I haven't even heard or seen anyone do that, but definitely sounds like a good idea.
