Default 2005 cold engine knock

every year when the temps get colder 50 degrees or below my engine gets a loud knock until it warms up to operating temp after driving it for 10 minutes or so. It has done this for a few years now. is this something normal or a bad knock sensor?

Default Cold Engine Knock

Same here Marty. I live in Minnesota and when the temps drop, the motor knocks. It didn't do it when it was new. It sounds like a rod knocking or a piston slopping around in the cylinder until it warms up. I imagine after 120k miles of the engine reving up to 2k+ at cold start up things start to wear out. Not sure why this engine revs like that at cold start, but no other vehicle I've ever owned did it, but then those motors never knocked when I started them up either. The oil has always been changed every 3k and I even ran Mobile 1 synthetic for 90,000 miles. I'm back to conventional oil now. Any Nissan Techs on here who have any input? If my engine throws a rod or something it wouldn't surprise me, this thing has had a myraid of problems since it hit about 80k.
