Default Average cost for a timining belt replacement

What is the average cost (at a dealer/Nissan specialist) for a timing belt with water pump replacement? Thanks

Thanks, I found a Nissan Specialist that would do it for about $550. I didn't know if that was a good or bad deal.

Some people can't find anything cheaper than $1100 or more, you found a good deal.

i'd say that's a pretty good deal. there really isn't an average. i've seen the prices all over the place on just about any work. calling around is the best bet to find the cheapest service. good luck.

Keep in mind that the cheapest service is not always the best.

the price usually depends on the parts that are replaced and the labor rate. due to that the price can vary alot. it's usually around $700.00 at the dealer i work for. we replace the t-belt, crank and cam seals, water pump, tensioner, drive belts and flush out the coolant. some cars require replacing some hoses and t-stat also wich costs alittle more.

right you are but that goes for the other way around too. the most expensive doesn't mean it's the best at all.

If you know a good repair shop, and get your own kit, mine was $500.00. I got a kit w/ all the belts, water pump, tensioner, seals, and I had a new thermostat put on. Oh, And All Of The Hoses And Clamps. They also had to recharge my feron. $300.00 was labor.
DON'T GO TO A NISSAN DEALER, THEY'LL RAPE YOU!!!!!!!!

I bought all the parts for my change from everythingnissan.com for around $250, and I've bought from 1stnissanparts.com in the past as well. Both are just discounted web sites for dealers. All parts were purchased separately, they didn't have any kits outside of just a timing belt and tensioner kit.

i bought all my parts at autozone for way cheaper. i'd highly recommend not buying a reconditioned water pump though. try to find a new one as the rebuilt ones just aren't the same. they don't pump the same amount of water through.

I'm sure autozone is still cheaper, but I did get a good list of Nissan parts for $250. That included 3 drive belts, 4 coolant hoses, thermostat, water pump, cam seals, crank seal, timing belt and tensioner.

Default Timing belt replacement

$700?!? Are those prices for the US? Was that for a 95 Pathfinder? My dealer (yes ... I meant Nissan dealer) in Georgia charged a little over $400 last year to change the timing belt, water pump, and oil pump on my 96 Pathfinder.
