Default CAN COm Circuit error code on NIssan 2005 pathfinder

Hello all:

I have a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder LE 4X4. It has 75,000 miles on it. The car has been running fine so far. Few days ago the service engine soon light came on. I took it to the dealer. The found the following two error codes:

CAN COM CIRCUIT
(U1000)

TCS/CIRC
[P1212]

They told me that the car has a battery which needs to be replaced and there are about 7/8 grounding wires on the bottom of the car, which needs to be taken out and cleaned. They are charging me about $400.

my question is, is there anybody who is familiar with the error codes? Is the dealership charging me for the correct amount?

Thanks.

I would check all battery conections especially the terminals. Also , what was determined for battery replacement?

I bought the battery from Pep Boys. They said that the battery is not the correct size and thats why the connectors didnt fit or connected properly. which kinda didnt make sense to me. Cause as long as the connectors goes in, they will just connect.

possible terminal location wrong for cables and cables barely reach the terminals but still no excuse to replace it because of that especially if you had no issues withit to this point.

Thanks Streamcast!

Just got the car back today. It is working fine. They said, the terminals were not tightening up properly because of the height of the battery and thats why the car wasnt getting full power. But who knows what they were saying is true. I didn't have any problem with the battery or any power related issues.

Oh well, at least the SES light is gone and the car is working.

Thanks again!
