Do I have to replace entire strut assembly?
I've got a 98 Pathfinder, and I need to replace the front shocks.
Do I have to replace the entire strut assembly? Or, can I compress the springs and replace the shocks alone? Thanks |

Yes, you can replaced the spring and replaced just the shock.

You can just replace the strut -- you need to make sure all the remaining parts are OK that are reused.
This can be a dangerous job if you do not know what you are doing. I purchased mine from Amazon -- front struts and rear shocks -- KYB's for less than $150.00 and had them installed for $85.00. |

Great. Where can I buy the shocks for the front, then?
I have looked, and I could only find the entire strut assembly. I'd like to buy pull the old shocks out of the old strut assembly, and insert new shocks. |
