Default 4WD warning light.

I recently observed on my 2005 pathfinder that when my drive indicator light (for 2WD/4WD/AWD) on dashboard disapper, the "4WD" light will come up and stayed permanent. After some miles, when the drive indicator light re-appear, the "4WD" light goes away. During this changes, my pathy was running (the knob was) on 2WD.
Checking the manual, I couldn't get any info than to take it to Nissan shop for check. Has anyone experience this and what's the implication?

If you have the "AUTO" mode transfer case and you have stored transfer case codes for the clutch pressure switch and line pressure switch, remove the transfer relay (it's near the brake booster), clean up the spades on the relay with some Scotch pad or sand paper and tighten the terminals in the harness connector using a dental pick or similar tool. This will usually fix the problem. The terminals loose tension and create a poor circuit for the transfer relay, which is used to run the transfer pump on the transfer case at idle, speeds under 35 MPH and in reverse. Above those speeds, the mechanical pump provides adequate lubrication for the transfer case wet clutch.
