i have a problem with a 94 auto trans , sometimes the reverse does not engage ( or it is slipping a lot ) i put it in neutral or park for 2-3 min and after the reverse engage just fine but just one time
i just buy the vehicule and i did not drive it on the road yet !
anybody have experience this problem
it has 170.000 km and a trailer hitch

have you tried to retreive error codes or run tranny diagnostics from the ECU?

this could be as simple as a linkage issue or as serious as tranny going bye bye although normally the forward gears are the ones that go out first. actually, have you checked your fluid level lately?

yes i checked the fluid but i just learn about error codes and i will check this week , but i find strange that it work fine but if i put it in drive and back in reverse , it do not engage or it is slipping a lot

That is a sign that the transmission is going to die on you and require a very expensive rebuild or replacement. If you can take it back and get a refund on your purchase price, I would do so. Rebuilds cost anywhere from $900-$2200 USD.
