Default castrol multi import ATF vs Genuine Nissan Matic J?

Just curious, I did the radiator bypass, lost a little bit of fluid. So I figured I will do my first flush an drain tonight. 60,000 miles. Only thing I could get was Castrol Multi Import ATF, says it'll work for Nissan Matic J. Does anyone else here use it or ever hear of problems not using Genuine Nissan Matic J? How many people don't use genuine Nissan?

It's my understanding that Nissan has replaced the "Matic J" with "Matic M".
The Castrol might work fine, but for tranny oil, I'll stick with OEM fluid.

Matic-J was replaced with Matic-S. I dump and refill my 05 Frontier about every 3rd engine oil change and use the now new Matic-S.70K+ and no problems to report.I did however replaced the radiator 2 weeks ago just in case.

Default atf

i did the simple drain around 68,000 miles and by 102,000 miles my atf fluid was cooking oil color...

could not find nissan matic J or S down here. used pennzoil synthetic (listed that it was compatible) 10,000 miles later checked atf fluid and it was burnt... had to use the same brand again untill i found the nissan matic S .

so i would use matic S , you can find it online for 8.99 per quart.

I hear you guys, I had to get it done over the weekend and dealership was closed. I don't know how accurate this link is,but whats your opinions? The truth about Matic J - Nissan Frontier / Navara Forum
I am definately pretty paranoind about the castrol atf, but I do like contributing to BP lol... Anyways I hate the nissan dealership here, aswell as where I bought the Pathy from before I moved. I cant stand contributing more money to Nissan.
ExterraMescio: Thanks for the advice, I might end up going that route, but I wonder what my 3 different fluid combination would do. Did you do the radiator bypass?

1 quart of atf.... i did end up with a little too much atf on dip stick... so i lowered the clear hose down dip stick tube and removed atf to correct level.

Exclamation No issues for a year and 32000 miles

Had the ATF cooler inside the radiator fail almost a year ago at 88000 miles. Flushed and refilled with the Castrol Import Multivehicle ATF and no problems with 32000 miles on it so far.
