The small leak may be caused by the gas cap. I suggest checking the gas cap and if nothing found, re tight the cap and erase the code. If the code comes back, then you may use the information on this bulletin to diagnose the problem: Knowledgebase - 2003 Pathfinder - Nissanhelp.com

I did purchase a gas cap from Nissan yesterday and filled up the tank. Have not reset the code and "Service Engine Soon" and it is still on. Have driven approx 40 miles since the new cap.
The light has on occasion (6 times /yr) extiguished for a day, but always back on. I take it I have to reset the the fault? Thank you. Cheers, Rob |

Hello, I also have P1456 code showing intermittantly and have changed the gas cap with no improvment. There is 70,000 mi on the truck. Im wondering if the parts involved would be covered under Emissions warranty? Thanks in advance.
