Default 98 Pathfinder Idles Rough

98 Pathy w/ 176K mi. Suddenly started to idle rough. OBDII = p0300/ Cylinder 3. Problem intermittent, usually smooth when cold, gets worse during warmup. Checked/cleaned MAF sensor. Spark plugs OK. Stethoscoped injectors, all clicking. What's next logical step ?

Although the injectors may be clicking that doesn't mean that are injecting fuel. Usually that problem and a code are trigger by bad or clogged fuel injectors. Try cleaning the injectors. There is a bulletin for that problem.

Go to the 1998 Pathfinder bulletin list: Knowledgebase - 1998 Pathfinder - Nissanhelp.com

Keyword filter: "p0300"

if it gets worse when warming up and its ok when cold, it can be partly related to first o2 sensor on that bank of cylinders. also coolant temp sensor may have effect on this problem.

if it is MAF only problem, it can idle perfectly but when you try to rev up engine it stalls.
