Default Passenger side mirror replacement?

My passenger side mirror cover was with something while parked and is cracked. The mirror glass is still OK and I am not sure if the power mirror motor/heater is still operative. Its appears that I only have cosmetic damage to the cover (the painted part that is on the opposite side of the mirror). Has anyone had to replace just this part? It looks like I can buy a replacement for $40 and get it painted to match. Does it just snap on/off?

I pulled this from your Service Manual Section GW - GLASSES, WINDOW SYSTEM & MIRRORS.

Hope this helps!

Yes, that helps somewhat since it details the removal of the whole assembly. I'm also trying to figure out whether I can simply replace the mirror cover itself without removing the whole assembly.
