Question Murano balljoint replacement

Hi,

I have a 2003 Murano and I noticed my passenger-side balljoint is loose - to the point the wheel has about 1 inch play. Question: do I need to replace the entire control arm or can I just replace the balljoint. The dealer told me I need to replace the entire control arm - but then... it's the dealer guy talking...

It is only available as a complete control arm.

Thanks. Bought the control arm and changed it... Surprisingly, the dealer had the best price - even aftermarket part prices were much higher...

No. The Murano balljoints are part of the control arm. You can't separate the balljoint from the rest of the control arm.
I replaced them on both sides. The dealer's price for the control arms was significantly better than aftermarket prices. I never use aftermarket parts for steering/suspension. On a separate note - I replaced my tie rod end yesterday and noticed the joint itself on the dealer's part is sealed better than the aftermarket ones I used as a replacement on other cars. It said "Made in Japan"...
