Leased a 2007 S AWD at the end Dec. 'o7. Now have 5k miles, and still love this vehicle. Came out of a 4Runner which was great too but a little to much vehicle for me and at lease time they were giving no deals or I probably would have renewed. This lease was same money as old 4Runner. I aver. 19.5/m and thats 50-50 driving. I am very pleased with that[6 cyl Runner got 18]. the ride is excellent, almost same amount of cargo space as previous which is why I wanted a crossover. Would have been a nice feature if the rear window opened ...8 ft lumber a problem. But don't need that too often. The smooth running engine just blows me away, quiet and smooth although as accelerating the engine noise to me gets real loud[cvt trans] But at highway speeds its fine. The trans is smooth and very response ,engine rpm's go up considerably when accel hence the noise but thats not bad. At about 65 the rpms are about 1800...the engine is loafing along and can't hear it. I have no problem with cvt trans and like it very much and would consider another vehicle with it when time comes.
Went to dealer Faulkner [Harrisburg PA.] for an oil change and mentioned the air cond. didn't seem cool enough and they replaced o rings and recharge system and is now working fine.
Wasn't to sure velour seat would hold up with wear and tear but seem to be okay. Absolutely think the display is great.....one reason I chose this vehicle.
One thing i don't care for is the silhouette of seeing the muffler[cat convt ?] under the vehicle . From a distance you can see the muffler , looks like it too low.
All in all would i buy this one again...yes ..yes. Would have loved to get the 2009 but had to replace and they weren't out yet. No buyer's remorse here !

Just purchased a new 2009 SL with the following: Leather, Premium package, and tech package. I wouldn't have bought anything else in it's class.

I have really admired this model since it's inception but never thought about owning one. I decided my 02 Toyota Double cab tacoma has had it's fill with me and I went looking. Being a pontiac fan I started here. And failed. Then went to toyota and ford and just wasn't impressed. I stepped into this Murano and simply fell in love.

Visibility: OMG. You feel like your sitting in and 18 Wheeler !! visibility is great looking forward. Looking sideways is comparatively good as well. My particular model has a backup camera but I preffer the side mirrors although the camera would come in use for attaching a trailer or checking blindspots for obsticles such as bicycles left in the driveway.

POWER: I'll give this truck modert respect for power. Granted this isn't a race car but it does have enough gumption to get out of it's own way, you certainly aren't sitting waiting for the hampsters to finish their power bars they had as a snack.

FEATURES: This simple japanese import will fool even the richest.. If your a techie person like myself you'll be adorne with all the feature rich elements. Buttons galore that simply just keep going. My wife just drove it and brought it back. When I got in I noticed the guage cluster had changed from reading MPG to showing basically a vaccum guage that was displaying fuel economy. It took my a good 15 minutes fiddling before I found a switch on the side of the dash that she had changed.

Tech stuff: Blue Tooth, works well although I wish I could shut off the voice prompt after I have it configured. I dont need the car asking me what to do everytime I need to use it. Power lift gate. Was a must have for me with my wife being only 5 Foot tall. (Personally I think this one feature was the selling point for me.) Fold back rear seats. AC/Heat plumbed into the rear. I can just go on and on here but you'll have to go see one yourself to get the full benefits.

Handling: Could use a little stiffer stabilizer but handles good for and SUV of sorts. Braking is very good and controllable.

Finally Dislikes: The only ONE single thing I dislike which I'm sure can eventually be resolved is that when shifting into park. The doors do NOT unlock automatically. Weather this is by design. A design flaw. Or something I havent figured out how to program yet is still to be determined but certainly nothing to prevent me nor should it you from buying one.

Shifting into park auto-door-unlock? I would prefer the doors stay locked, think of some of the bad places you've parked for example.

I have a new 2009 LE loaded less than 1000 miles. What I can't understand is why the doors don't immediately lock when placed in Reverse or drive? Thats a HUGH Safety problem NISSAN that needs to fixe immediately! My 5 yr old Impala knows that is unsafe!

TSB anyone?

Default 2009: A 3 dressed up as a 9

I own a 2005 and just bought a 2009. Love the 05 and gave it to my wife. Personally sold 6 more to friends and family, it's that good. Got 1000 km on the new one and really like the power, tightness and sound level. I drive fast and installed a Passport 9500ci in the new one.

Not so impressed with the 2009 interior though (hence the title).

1. The Wipers: Old-OK, New- Serious road hazard. They just don't work in our climate (Rain, snow, ice, mud). They won't respond to intermmitent timer control, don't recognize changing moisture conditions and are just plain frustrating and annoying (I manually operate them as they can't be trusted).
2. The Climate Control: Old-Perfect, New-Very poor. The old one never blew cold air on my feet and waited until temp was up to start. New one seems to always blow (at -30 C, it's going to be real cold!). I'm driving along with outside temp around 3 C, comfortable and it decides that I need to be cooled down and blows from the upper vents for no reason.
3. Outside Temp-Icy: Old-Very good, New-Stupid. Why did it move to center of speedometer and why say Icy whenever temp is near 0 C? The old was in center console and all guests checked it out. Now wifey is constantly leaning over to see it. Maybe if wheels slip, THEN post ICY-useless feature.
4. Roof Window: Old-Excellent, New-Very vulnerable. Can't find a wind screen to put up there to block rocks. BTW: We pour rocks on the road 5 months a year to reduce ice crashes and the roof is not warranteed if broken - $4000 for repairs. Getting it coated with Clearplex for protection.
6. Door Locks: Old-Very Good, New-Annoying. Every time I stop, I forget to open which gets tiresome for me and guests.

It's a real shame that Nissan missed some of the really good details that made the previous model a joy to drive. All I can hope is that they might look at this feedback and maybe give us a program update (as that is all these gripes are. Easily fixed with some intelligent program updates)

I can't help but think that it was designed in Florida with little knowledge of real weather. I travel extensively and in Phoneix or Orlando, you see a few- in Canada they are all over the place (the old one that is).

Almost the perfect transport! Buy one, you'll like it. I'm just picky (or so I'm told)

09 Murano and Loving it!
Got my 09 end of Sept/09. Taking it in for it's first service (6000KM), tomorrow (Monday, Nov. 16). Love the Bluetooth, my 05 Maxima didn't have it and I had to add it.
Got the SL AWD w/lux and tech package. I think it has a great ride, although I think it could be a wee bit more firm in the corners, but I also understand the trade-offs.
Looking at changing over to winter tires in a couple weeks.
Lots of passenger room, love the rear seat releases and power back up.
The rear power lift is cool and has been very useful so far. Have the rear camera, pretty useful, but takes getting use to checking it as I do the mirrors. Really useful for backing into parking spots.
I do a lot of driving, mostly hi-way and find it very comfortable and quiet.
Although I can use the Aux in for my iPod, I am looking to integrate something into the system that will allow me to use the controls on the steering wheel to control the iPod. (did this on my 05).
I've already waxed it twice getting ready for winter!
After having the HIDs on the 05, I'm glad to have them on the 09 as well. Although I will be replacing the driving lamp bulbs to match the look of the HIDs.
I love driving my Murano!
