Question Rattle noise lift gate area when torsion move

My Murano 09 has a distinct rattle noise coming from the lift gate area when the frame torsion (like slowly going over a speed bump one wheel at a time). I have tried just about everything: took every compartment cover off, back area rolled cover, jack and tools, everything I could and the noise was still there. I took it to the dealership and they adjusted the lift gate locking mechanism and it seemed to minimize the rattle for a while but I still hear it a few weeks after the "adjustment". The noise is only heard when the rear of the car torsions at slow speed. It does not rattles when driving at normal speeds, even if going over a bump. Only does it when going slowly over a bump or backing off a driveway into the street.
I am out of ideas

My '07 Murano has the same noise. It has gotten worse over the last year and like you I have taken everything apart except the rear hatch itself - which is the source. Not just restricted to slow speed, any bump at any speed. Would love to eliminate this annoyance.

Well Mark, I am glad to hear that I am not alone. Unfortunately, I can never arrange for someone else to drive while I am in the back trying to figure out where the rattle is coming from. I will tell you that, I took it to the dealership a few months ago and they "adjusted" some latch mechanism and the rattle got better but a few weeks later, it came back.
I know that is has to be something coming loose back there but not knowing where is making it very hard to pin point.
I hope someone else has experienced it and has some insight that would like to share with us. Good luck, I will certainly write something down if I figure out the source.

Default 09 murano rear rattle noise !

I also have the very annoying sound. First the dealer changed out the rear latch hardware - noise went away for 2 weeks then back. Then the dealer changed out the ENTIRE REAR HATCH , window and all and had to paint it to match the car, etc. I drove a rental car for 5 days. Noise was better but now back worse than ever. I cannot find the source but it does sound like you described above - when the body torques or shifts weight - not just on bumps. I also removed everything from the back compartment and ruled that out as well.
I am furious about it and will tell the dealer this week that I don't want the car - I will try for a trade or something (??) - very exasperating the Nissan does not seem to know about this problem and what causes it.
PLEASE post here if anyone finds the way to fix the irritating noise.
Good luck y'all.
FF

A rattle noise can be heard coming from the rear of the vehicle when driving over bumps
(which may sound like it is coming from the rear suspension; and might only be heard when
the windows are partially or fully open), perform the following action.
ACTIONS:
1. Lightly apply the parking brake to see if the noise is eliminated.
WARNING: Do not drive more than a few feet with the parking brake applied. The
brakes will overheat.
2. If the noise is eliminated with the parking brake lightly applied, adjust the parking brake
system.
• See section PB in the applicable Electronic Service Manual (ESM) for parking brake
system adjustment procedures.
CLAIMS INFORMATION
Submit a Primary Operation (PO) line claim using the following claims coding:
DESCRIPTION OP CODE SYM DIA FRT
Adjust Parking Brake WD62AA ZL 41 (1)
1. Reference the current Nissan Warranty Flat Rate Manual and use the indicated FRT.

Hope that helps..

justlikeme - thanks very much for that advice - I will try the parking brake thing tonight. I'm actually very excited at the possibility of a solution !
If it doesn't work I will call the GM at the dealership and ask how far he is willing to go to have a satisfied customer, etc.
