windshield
I recently had my windshield replaced by a nissan dealer under warranty. I found the trimming on the corner passenger side of the windshield coming off. Should these trimmings be replaced when the glass is replaced? It was easily removed (pulled off). I brought it back but dont know if they glued the trimming back in place or redo the glass installation.

thanks Nissan Tech - the trim is the liner that goes around the corner outside of the entire windshield except for the bottom. They did replace the seal and left the old trim but I thought they should have replaced the trim since it did not fit properly after the windshield install. - thanks for your quick response.

I had the same problem when they replaced my windshield. I was washing my car and the trim popped off. I think the problem is that when they 'glue' the windshield back in place they use too much adhesive and the trim does not fit flush with the pillars making it more vulnerable. I made them redo the install and replace the trim pieces. They are only held in place with double stick tape.

I got nissan to fix the trim but I think they just glued it down because now there is a gap between the glass and the trim. Did they replaced the entire trim - did you have to make a fuss about it? See, they dont do the job, they let apple glass do the job. But I'm not happy at all with the work. Its just a hassle to bring it back then they look then schedule a date, lose the car for the entire day.. but I want the windshield fixed-$45000 vehicle, you think they will do a simple job right.
