If cars were returnable, like underwear from K-Mart, car makers wouldn't dare try this sh**. I bought a 2008 Altima, and when I first used it, I got a message that some of the route was in an unknown area. I contacted my local dealer who contacted Nissan, who contacted the 3rd party provider for Nissan Nav DVD's and they said that there is a new version every November. every November??!?!?? I asked why and they stated, that unlike 'other' GPS units, they do not take it on faith that the road is actually there (even though it is on Mapquest, Google, Yahoo, etc) and they have to go and DRIVE the road to make sure. As much as I love the Altima, and this probalby would not have made a difference in whether I bought it or not, I would have liked to have known this upfront.

Actually, all GPS Vendors (i.e., Garmin, TomTom, etc.) release updated maps yearly.
