Default Heater blowing cold air

When the car is idling even with the engine hot the heater blows cold air. At highway speed it blows hot ait again until I stop. I ran the Climate Control self test as described in the FSM. All systems preformed well except the discharge air temp doesn't change. I think It may be the Automatic Amplifier but I'm not sure. What else can it be? Can anyone please help me with this problem? I have 195K on the car but have taken excellent care of it since day one.

It is probably just air pockets in the heater system. You need to bleed the coolant system:
  1. Let the engine cool down.
  2. Raise the front of your Maxima.
  3. Start the engine,
  4. Carefully remove the radiator cap.
  5. Turn the heater system ON.
By following these steps the bubble of air should go out. It is better if you use a funnel. Place the funnel on top of the radiator and keep adding coolant as it needed. Let it runn for about 30-45 minutes.
