The trouble with going to a Nissan dealer for service these days is that nobody knows hot to fix the problems that are systemic with todays car troubles. I have left the dealer with the same problem recurring within hours of having it fixed, especially the shaking at HWY speeds. The option of stating "could not duplicate problem" should be removed as an option for the Technicians. 3 years later and the Elite Package console on the back seat still rattles, so does the sunshade and the rear speaker tray. Calling Nissan Consumer Affairs is another waste of time, they just tell you to take the car back but nobody takes an interest in fixing the problems. Nissan needs to go back to the consumer and ask what they want in a car and start fresh, the way they are going, profits will soon be losses when the customers start to shop elsewhere.

I agree with newbie about all dealerships in general. I have not found one yet that I completely trust. We took a 1995 Nissan Maxima with a problem of stalling while slowing down or stopping to a Nissan Dealership in Hanover, Pa. They quoted a price of $2000.00 to fix this problem. This is a list of what they wanted to replace to fix the car: Needless to say, we let them put on a new fuel filter but refused to let them throw parts hoping one might fix this problem.

$552.48 Replace Mass Air Flow
$372.68 Replace EGR System: (valve, censor, gasket)
$ 35.00 Clean Throttle Body
$359.74 Replace Oxygen Censors (2)
$632.81 Possibly have to replace ECU

I cannot believe that all of the above things they quoted above could go bad at the same time causing this . To me, this sounds like they could not diagnose the particular part that was causing the trouble and they wanted to throw parts at it hoping that one of the things they replaced would fix it. This is a slight deviation from the problem were having with the car but I would like to insert it here for an analogy. I was taking a course in electronics some years back and the instructor was talking about working on televisions. He advised that the technician had to have the ability to diagnose certain components that was causing the trouble and not to just start replacing parts in hoping that one would correct the situation. He advised the class that his wife did not know anything about TV repair but if you gave her enough parts she could fix it sooner or later. This is how I feel about automobile dealerships anymore. Most of these technicians, not by their own fault, are under paid and are not properly trained on these new high tech engines. Thanks for allowing me to post this info.
