Replace coils/plus & front end bounces?
I know this is a weird question, but I had all the coils and plugs replaced in my 2001 Maxima. On the way to work after picking the car up, the front end bounces very badly. It gets really bad at around 50 mph. Is there any way the two are connected?
Forgot to mention, the idle stumbles at red lights. Usually once per light, with the car in drive. I'm wondering if the mechanic somehow installed the wrong coils or something. Last edited by redgym; 05-12-2014 at 10:21 AM. |

I can't imagine the two are related, unless what you think is bounce is really a bad misfire that the engine shudders, bucks and shakes badly. You didn't mention this condition before the coil job so I would focus on that. If all the coils were not replaced, it is possible older coil(s) also failed. Other possibility is some vacuum or intake hose not reconnected or connected properly or even damaged.

I can't imagine how they would be related either, but I never had the bouncing issue before today. The car didn't seem to be misfiring. All six coils were replaced and new plugs installed. I will keep driving the car and see what happens. Thanks.
