02 starting problem/stalling
Have an 02 Maxima that has had intermittent starting problems which most of the time could be overcome by switching the ignition to start; back; start; back; start; until it would fire up and run (and run great).
Eventually set a code of 0340 so I replaced both cam sensors and the crank sensor. Still had problems. Got it started up and started moving wires around under the hood. (this is after checking all the grounding points, cleaning and reseating). Found one particular harness that caused a miss in the engine when moved in a certain way, so left it missing and shut the engine down. Would NOT start! Went back and moved the wires again and got it to start up and it started fine. Now I know the problem is in that particular wiring harness and am now attempting to pinpoint the wire(s) that are not making proper connection. This is just a FYI for anyone having similar problems. Hoping it will help some poor soul .. !!!! |
